Guide to New Boiler Installation

The law says that only gas safe registered people or companies can work on gas appliances and must carry their gas safe card with them all the time.  So if you are going to install your new boiler, better call a gas safe registered person or company to do the installation for you.  Check the person's gas safe card to ensure that he is someone registered to install boilers.

Check your current boiler output to know what output your new boiler should have.  You can find it printed on the case, front panel or underneath.  The boiler size that you need will be decided by the boiler output you need.

If you are planning to extend your property then you need a bigger boiler to cope with the extra demand.  The average combination boiler comes in many different sizes.  Most people buy the 24 KW boiler which is the most popular of all.   If you are living in a flat or a small house, then this boiler is ideal for your home.  If you want continuous supply of hot water in your home then get the 24KW boiler; this also can comfortably heat around 10 radiators.  The boiler will produce around 10 liters of hot water per minute.  Your home will need a bigger boiler if 10 liters of hot water per minute is not enough for your needs.  Do some researches to find the new boiler that will interest you and get all the information you can get about it.  Compare the boiler you have chosen with others.  Don't settle for the cheapest boiler and if you need advice, ask an engineer to recommend the best boiler for your home.

Sometimes new gas regulations are implement like changing the new boiler location from the existing one.  But if you want to keep the installation cost down, then it is better if possible to install the new boiler in the same location as the old one. Click for details!

The new boiler needs a condense drain pipe which has to exit into a drain.  IF possible the drain should be internet; otherwise, it has to exit on an external drain.  The boiler will surely stop working if it is allowed to freeze so you must protect it from the cold.
